Trying SellyPOS with a few products
FreeWhat SellyPOS does
The sales counter is where your shop spends its day. It finds products, sells a phone by its code, takes payment and prints the receipt, and it keeps the cart as it was if a sale does not go through.
Every shop has a counter and a queue. This page walks through what the counter does, from the moment a customer reaches it to the moment they leave with a receipt.
A person who is allowed to sell opens straight onto the counter with an empty cart. The sections below follow one sale from start to finish, in the order you meet each step.
If you sell phones, scan each phone's own code to sell that exact phone, and take an old one in part payment. If you sell medicines, the till will not sell any item above the MRP printed on it.
Nothing matches “”.
Try a shorter word, or fewer words. You can also browse the sections below.
Open the till and let each person sign in. Then choose the customer and the salesperson for the sale. At a food counter, choose the kind of order before the first item goes in.
Customers ask in their own words, and a barcode is not always to hand. These are the ways the counter helps you reach the right product.
A scan, a typed name or an item that is not in your products each has its own way into the cart. You can change or undo any line before you finish the sale.
Every phone has its own code, so the counter sells that exact phone. An old phone can also be part of the payment for a new one.
Each price, any discount and, for stock with dates, the batch that goes out are shown on the line, so you can see where each one came from.
A customer who has gone back for one more thing can wait, so hold the sale and serve the next person. You can also print a bill for the customer to take away without making a sale.
The steps that end every sale, in the order you meet them, from the amount on the screen to the last payment.
When the last payment is in, the receipt prints or is sent and the next sale starts. Later, you can find an old sale and print a copy of its receipt.
A finished sale is never edited. A return adds a new record that points back to the sale it changes, so the first record stays as it was.
Did a sale or a return go through by mistake? A void reverses it, and the original stays in history, marked, so the whole story stays visible.
When the counter is easy, the queue moves. Go through the steps above at your own counter, with a new cashier beside you. If you sell phones or medicines, start with those sections.
