What SellyPOS does

Set up your shop once, and every document matches it

Setup and documents is where you tell SellyPOS about your shop, once. Your name, country, formats, receipts and invoices then follow from the choices you make here.

Updated 3 Nov 2026 · 29 things it does, in 8 sections

Set the receipt once, then look at it before any customer gets one.

This page is for the person who sets the shop up, and for anyone who changes it later. Here you give the shop its details, choose its country and formats, and decide how receipts and invoices look, including any drug licence, and how they are numbered. You can leave most of it until you have time.

Your receipts and invoices take the shop name and tax numbers from the same place, so they agree with each other. The till is ready for a first sale once the basics are in, and you come back to the rest when a document needs changing.

  1. Get the till ready on your first day

The steps you meet at the start, in order. Answer what matters now, skip the rest, and let the checklist keep track of what is still open.

  2. Make the receipt look like your shop

The receipt is the paper your customer keeps, so it should show your shop clearly. Pick its style, its fonts and its logo, and look at it before anything goes out.

  3. Number and lay out your invoices

A full-page invoice needs a number that shows where it came from, and a layout your customers will recognise. These settings give you both, and let you check a sample before a real one goes out.

  4. Show your drug licence on receipts and invoices

If you sell medicines, your drug licence and your pharmacist's name can print on your receipts and on the A4 invoice. The licence field takes the name your country uses for the licence.

  5. Set how the counter rounds and how refunds work

These choices decide how the total is rounded, what the counter asks before a big change, and why goods may come back. Set them once, and every sale and return follows them.

  6. Bring your lists in and keep copies of them

Typing a long customer or supplier list by hand takes time. Load the list from a file instead, and save a copy of your lists whenever you want to keep one.

  7. Look up country, format, week and colour settings

These are the settings you come back to when you want to check or change just one thing. The country, currency, formats, week and this computer's colours are kept together, so you can find them in one place.

  8. Find any setting, and get help when you are stuck

When you cannot remember where a setting lives, search for it by the word you would use. When you need a person, the support details are on the Help screen.

Once the setup is finished, the checklist shows you what is still open. Before a customer sees a receipt or an invoice, look at the preview with your own eyes, and change anything that does not look like your shop.
