Get the till ready on your first day

The steps you meet at the start, in order. Answer what matters now, skip the rest, and let the checklist keep track of what is still open.

5 things it does

  1. Choose your country once and the money and date settings follow

During setup, you pick your country from a list. SellyPOS then fills in the currency, the way prices and dates are written, the time zone and the pattern for mobile numbers. If the country has a tax label, it is filled in, and it is left out where there is none.

  2. Tell SellyPOS what kind of shop you run, during setup

Choose the one that fits, and SellyPOS fills in sensible settings for it. A business type does not set your sales tax registration, or the expiry dates and units printed on labels. You can change the settings later in Setup.

  3. Your shop's name, address and tax numbers in one place

It also holds the city, the province, the till's code and the shop's logo. Your tax numbers are on the same tab, and the sales tax number box appears only for shops in Pakistan. Your own mobile number is not on this page.

Keep the shop's NTN and STRN here, with a note that SellyPOS only records them.

  4. Start selling on the first day, and finish setup later

A skipped step is left with sensible starting settings, so the shop can trade at once. A checklist shows what is still to set up, and you can finish it when you have time.

  5. See the parts of the shop you still have to set up

Open Setup and the checklist is the first row, with a count of the steps still to do. Each step takes you to the page where that job is done. The tax numbers are kept on the Business profile page, and there is no separate step for tax registration.
