Typing a long customer or supplier list by hand takes time. Load the list from a file instead, and save a copy of your lists whenever you want to keep one.
2 things it does
Bring your customer or supplier list in from a file
Basic and Professional
Can I bring my customer or supplier list into SellyPOS from a file? Yes, from a CSV file. The file is checked first, and one wrong row refuses the whole file.
Without it
A shop that already keeps its customers and suppliers in a file must type each name in again. A long list typed by hand takes time you need at the counter.
With it
You load the whole list from a CSV file. SellyPOS checks the file first, and if one row is wrong, the whole file is refused, so the list is either loaded whole or not loaded.
On the Import and export page, choose customers or suppliers, then download the template so the columns are right. Choose your CSV file, and SellyPOS checks each row before anything is saved. A file with a wrong row is refused as a whole. You are told which rows are wrong and why, so you can fix them and try again. Products are brought in from the Products page instead.

Keep a copy of your product, customer and supplier lists
Basic and Professional
Can I take a copy of my products, customers or suppliers out of the program? In Settings, the Data tab saves a copy of products, customers or suppliers as a CSV file, or gives a blank sheet to fill in. The saved file can be loaded again later.
Without it
Your product, customer and supplier lists took time to build. Without a copy outside the program, losing a computer means typing them in again.
With it
You save a copy of one of the three lists as a file you can keep. The file can be loaded back in later, so the list is not lost.
In Setup, open the Import and export page and choose products, customers or suppliers. Save a copy of the list as a CSV file, which a spreadsheet program can open. You can also save a blank sheet with the right columns, to fill in by hand. A saved file can be loaded back into SellyPOS later. Only these three lists can be saved this way.
