When a delivery arrives, its dates and numbers go in with it, so the stock carries them from the day it comes in.
3 things it does
Add the starting stock when you bring your products in
Basic and Professional
Can an import set the opening stock for each new product? Opening stock in the file is recorded as a stock adjustment when its product is created. A product that is not stocked, or that tracks batches, expiry dates or serial numbers, cannot take an opening quantity.
Without it
A new shop has a long list of products, and each one already has stock on the shelf. Typing each product, then its starting stock, one at a time, takes a long time.
With it
Put the starting quantity in the product file, beside each product. When the product is created, its starting stock is recorded as well, so the figures start out right.
Each product line in the import file can carry an opening quantity. When the import creates that product, the quantity is recorded as a stock adjustment, so the shelf figure starts at that amount. Nor can one that tracks batches, expiry dates or serial numbers, and the import refuses it for those.

Note the expiry date and lot number as each delivery arrives
Basic and Professional
Can I note the expiry date and lot of what a supplier delivered? For a product that tracks expiry and lots, each delivered line takes its own expiry date and lot number.
Without it
Dates printed on the cartons are read at the door and then forgotten. Later, nobody can say when a delivery was due to go out of date.
With it
Each line of a delivery takes its own expiry date and lot number, so the stock carries its dates from the day it arrives.
Products that do not track them do not ask. Stock goes up only by what actually arrived, and when you receive against an order, a short delivery leaves the rest still to come. You type the lot number from the box, because SellyPOS does not make one up.

Add a whole box of serial numbers to stock in one go
Professional only
How do I add a batch of phones or other numbered units to stock? Paste or scan a list of serial numbers and post it as one document. Set a price for each unit, or one price for all, and add battery health, cycles and a condition note.
Without it
A box of phones arrives, and each unit has its own long number. Typing each one by hand, with its price and details, takes a long time.
With it
Paste or scan the numbers once, and the whole box goes into stock as one document, with the details kept for each unit.
Paste a list of serial numbers, or scan them one after another, and add them to stock as one document. Each line is one unit, and you can give it its own price, or set one price for the whole list. You can also record battery health, cycle count and a condition note for each unit. A number already in stock, or one repeated in the list, is refused and named on its line, and nothing is saved until the list is right.
Paste many serial numbers in at once, as one stock document.
