Sign in at the till in a moment

Pick your name, type your PIN, and the till is yours. The first sign-in after the till starts still asks for a password.

3 things it does

Pick your name from the list, then type your PIN or password

In every edition

Can I sign in without typing my username every time? Sign-in shows the shop's active users as a list, with the last one used already selected. Pick your name, then type your password or PIN.

Without it

Typing a username at each change of cashier is slow. A wrong spelling means starting again, while the queue grows.

With it

The till lists the active staff, with the last person who used it already selected. Choose your name, then type your PIN or password.

Use the up and down arrows to pick a different name. A person whose sign-in is set to PIN is signed in on the fourth digit. Other people type a password. An administrator chooses each person's method, and signing in needs no internet connection.

Other ways people ask this
  • pos login by picking a name from the staff list
  • cashier sign in list with a PIN
  • sign in to the till without typing a username

Take over the till with a four-digit PIN, after one password sign-in

In every edition

How do my cashiers sign in and switch at the counter? Each user has a password and a PIN of at least four digits. The PIN switches users quickly at the counter, but it cannot be used for the first sign-in after the till starts.

Without it

Each time a cashier takes over, a long password means a wait at the counter. The customer in front has to wait while it is typed.

With it

A cashier types a four-digit PIN to take over the till in a moment. A password is still needed for the first sign-in after the till starts.

At the counter, a PIN switches the till from one person to another. The first sign-in after the till starts must use a password, because a PIN cannot open the till first. An administrator chooses each person's method.

Other ways people ask this
  • pin to switch cashiers at the till
  • software where cashiers switch with a four digit PIN
  • cashier PIN login for a busy counter

Change your own password or PIN, without asking the administrator

In every edition

Can I change my own password or PIN without asking the administrator? Open Profile to see who you are, change your password, and set or change your PIN.

Without it

A cashier wants a new PIN because a colleague has seen the old one. The change has to wait until the administrator can get to the till.

With it

Open Profile to see who you are, change your password, or set or change your PIN yourself.

This works for a password you know. It does not recover a password you have forgotten.

Other ways people ask this
  • how to change my own PIN on the till
  • change my password in shop software
  • set a new PIN without asking the administrator
