A shirt can come in many sizes and colours, and each size or colour is its own item. Set them up once. A product file can carry them, and picking the main product adds a line for each one.
8 things it does
Set up a shirt's sizes and colours once, and create them together
Basic and Professional
Can one product come in several sizes and colours? Attributes such as size and colour are kept once and reused across products. Every combination of the chosen values is created, except the ones excluded before creation.
Without it
Typing each size and colour as a separate product takes a long time. The same name can end up spelt slightly differently each time it is typed.
With it
You choose the sizes and colours once, and SellyPOS creates the combinations for you. Values are reused, so a Large on one product is the same Large on another.
Choose the values a product comes in, and SellyPOS creates the combinations of them. You can leave out a combination before it is created, so it does not clutter your product list.
Tick the sizes and colours once, and each combination becomes its own item.

Tick a product's variants while you are still creating it
Basic and Professional
Can I set up product variants while I am creating a new product? On a new product you can tick the variants you want, and Save creates them once the product exists.
Without it
A shirt comes in several sizes and colours. Adding each one as a separate product, after the main product is saved, means typing the same details again and again.
With it
You tick the variants on the new product page. When you press Save, they are made once the product exists.
Every tab is open on a new product, the Variants tab included. Tick the variants you want there, such as a size or a colour. Ticking does not create anything yet. When you press Save, the product is made first, and then its variants are made from your ticks.

Clothing store POS software that starts with size and colour options
Basic and Professional
Does a garment or shoe shop start with its product options already set up? Choose Garments, Shoes or Supermarket as the business type at onboarding, or correct the type later in Setup, and the options are created. Garments starts with eight attributes and 103 values, Shoes with four and 80, Supermarket with 16 and 170.
Without it
A new clothing or shoe shop must create each size and option by hand before the first product can be sold. Typing them in one at a time takes a long time, and each one can be spelled differently.
With it
Pick the business type when you set up, and the options for that trade are created for you. Sizes, shoe sizes and other options are ready to pick when you enter a product.
SellyPOS then creates the product options for that trade, such as sizes and colours. A shop that is already set up is not changed unless its business type is applied again.

See a product's sizes against its colours, with the stock of each
Basic and Professional
Can I see a product's sizes and colours in one grid with the stock of each? A product's variants can be shown as a grid of size against colour, with the stock of each variant.
Without it
A long list of variants makes it hard to see at a glance which size and colour combinations are running short.
With it
A grid lays the sizes against the colours and shows the stock of each variant in its place.
Open a product that has sizes and colours to see its variants as a grid. Each variant is shown where its size meets its colour, with the stock it has. The grid lets you see which combinations are low and which have plenty, without reading the whole list.

Change the prices of a product's sizes and colours in one table
Basic and Professional
Can I change the prices of all of a product's variants in one place? Open a product's variants in one editable table and change the price, cost, SKU and reorder levels of each. Fill down and percentage change are there too, and quantities go through a bulk adjustment.
Without it
Pricing each size on its own means opening each one in turn. For a shirt in many sizes, that takes a long time and is easy to skip.
With it
Open a product's variants in one table. Change the price, cost, code and reorder levels of each row, and fill a value down or change prices by a percentage.
The table lists the variants of one product, such as each size and colour. You can change the price, cost, code and reorder levels of each row. Type a value once and fill it down the column, or change the selected prices by a percentage. Quantities are not typed into the table; a change to stock goes through a bulk adjustment instead.

Each size and colour keeps its own barcode, price and stock
Basic and Professional
Does each size or colour have its own barcode and stock? Each variant keeps its own SKU, barcodes, cost, price and stock, and adding a value creates only the new variants.
Without it
A shirt in several sizes is not one item. If a medium and a large share one stock count, the shop cannot see which size is running low.
With it
Each size or colour is its own item, with its own code, barcodes, cost, price and stock. You can see which one is low and change its price alone.
When you add a new size or colour later, only the new combinations are created. The ones you already have are left as they are, with their own figures.
Other ways people ask this

Pick a product once and it adds a line for each size and colour
Basic and Professional
Do I have to add every size of a shirt one at a time when buying it? On purchase orders, goods received, quick purchase and stock adjustments, picking a product with variants adds a line for each active variant, with no quantity. Picking one variant adds only that one, and a variant already on the document keeps its quantity.
Without it
A clothing shop takes in one shirt in each size and colour. Adding each one by hand means a long list of single lines, while the supplier waits at the door.
With it
Pick the main product, and a line for each of its active variants is added with no quantity yet. You type each quantity and press Enter to go to the next line.
On a purchase order, goods received, quick purchase or stock adjustment, pick the main product from the search. Save is refused while a line has no quantity, and you can remove those empty lines in one step.

One product file sets prices, variants, packs and opening stock
Basic and Professional
Can one import file set up prices, barcodes, variants and opening stock together? The products file has 54 columns: prices, barcodes, categories, brands, tax group, reorder levels, batch, expiry and serial flags, pack levels, variants and opening stock. Only the name and the price are required.
Without it
A new shop has an empty till. Each product's price, barcode, category, stock and variants would otherwise go in through separate screens, one product after another.
With it
One file can carry the prices, the stock and the rest together. A simple product needs only its name and price, and the rest can be filled in as you have it.
A row with no name, that repeats the code or barcode of a product above, adds one more pack level to it. Opening stock is set last for each product.
