Edit many products at once
Choose products, change their prices, names or stock in one sheet, review every change, and save them together. Undo a saved bulk edit within 24 hours.
Use Bulk edit to change prices, names and stock for many products in one sheet. Nothing is saved until you review the changes and press save. For the full picture, see bulk edit products.
What you need
- Permission to use Bulk edit, and permission to edit products. Columns you may not see are not shown. Columns you may see but not change are read-only.
- Products already in SellyPOS. Bulk edit changes products. It does not create them.
- Optionally, a block copied from Excel, if you want to paste a list of values.
Steps
-
Open Bulk edit. It is in the Products menu, after Import.
-
Choose the products. Pick a category or a brand, a supplier, an option such as a size, or a filter. You can also take the lines of a goods received or a stock count, or scan codes. Several choices add together into one set.
-
Edit in the sheet. Click a cell and type. Press Enter to move on, or Esc to cancel what you are typing. A greyed-out cell cannot be changed, and the reason is shown.
-
Paste a block if you need to. Copy the block from Excel and paste it. It fills from the cell you have selected, in the same shape. A paste never creates a product.
-
Change selected prices. Select the cells, then press Change selected. Set a price, or raise or lower the prices by a percentage or an amount. Choose the rounding: to 1, 5 or 10, or to end in 9. A sale price that would go past the MRP stays at the MRP, unless you choose otherwise.
-
Type stock counts. Type the count on the shelf in the On hand column. Check the reason, which starts as Stock correction. Only the difference from the figure loaded is recorded.
-
Press Review and save. Read every old and new value. If a field or a count changed while you worked, choose which value to keep. Then save. Everything is saved, or nothing is.
-
Undo within 24 hours if you need to. Open the Bulk edits panel from the top bar, find the bulk edit, and press Undo. The old values come back, and the stock changes are reversed with new records.
Changes you have not saved are kept as a draft on this computer. When you open Bulk edit again, the draft is offered back.
If something is not as you expect
- An undo is refused for stock. If an undo would take a product’s stock below zero, it is refused, or you are asked first, depending on your shop’s stock rule. If your stock limit does not cover the adjustments, an Owner or Manager must undo the edit.
- A value on a parent row does not reach its variants. Only the columns the variants share, such as category, brand and unit, pass from the parent. Change sale price and stock on each variant.
- A lot’s expiry date or MRP does not change in the sheet. A product tracked by lot is changed lot by lot, in a pop-up.

Questions people ask
Can I change the prices of many products at once?
Yes. Choose the products, then use Change selected to set a price, or to raise or lower the chosen prices by a percentage or an amount. The result is rounded to 1, 5 or 10, or made to end in 9. A sale price that would go above the MRP is held at the MRP unless you choose otherwise. Review lists every old and new value before you save, and changes are saved together or not at all. A saved bulk edit can be undone for 24 hours. See bulk edit products.
