Why it matters
Many shop systems are websites that run inside a browser. Every scan goes to a server and back, a slow connection slows the counter, and closing the tab can lose a sale. Others are Windows programs that work, but look old and are hard to learn.
SellyPOS is neither. It is a native Windows program with a modern interface, built for the speed of a busy counter.
Native: it runs on your computer
- Installed like any Windows program. One installer, with everything it needs inside it. There is no browser to open and nothing else to install.
- Nothing at the counter waits for the internet. Scanning, totalling and finishing a sale happen on your computer, and the sale is saved there before the receipt prints. See offline selling.
- Talks to your hardware directly. Receipt printers over USB, Bluetooth or your network, and USB barcode scanners that work the moment they are plugged in. See receipt printing and barcode scanning.
- Your data stays on your computer, in your shop, not on somebody else’s server.
Modern: clear at a glance
- Every screen works the same way. Buttons, colours and text look alike everywhere, so what a cashier learns on one screen works on the next.
- Easy to read in a busy shop. Dark text on a light background, so prices and totals are clear from a step away.

Which computers does SellyPOS run on?
Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. At least a dual-core processor (such as an Intel Core i3), 4 GB of memory, 500 MB of free disk space and a 1366 × 768 screen; a quad-core processor, 8 GB of memory and an SSD are recommended. SellyPOS is a native Windows program, so it runs on the computer itself, not in a browser. Versions for macOS and Linux are planned. Full system requirements.
Does SellyPOS work without internet?
Yes. Selling never needs a connection: every sale is saved on the computer's own disk before the receipt prints, so a dropped connection, a power cut or a crash does not lose it. You need internet once, to sign in with Google and set up your shop, and from time to time to check your licence and updates.
Where is my shop's data kept?
